Lead. People are following. A 1-hour seminar for student leaders in Years 10 to 12.
Every school has a prefect badge, a captain’s blazer, a leadership team. Most of the kids wearing them have been told they’re leaders. Very few have been told what leadership actually is, or where it starts.
The Leadership Effect starts where every credible leader starts: with themselves. You can’t lead a year group, a team, or a school community on borrowed authority. You lead from purpose, or you don’t lead at all. There’s a leader inside every student in the room, sometimes underdeveloped, sometimes underused, sometimes overlooked. The seminar wakes that leader up. We’ve delivered it in 750 schools.
WHO IT’S FOR AND WHAT THEY WALK OUT WITH
Student leaders, prefect cohorts, sports captains, house captains, and senior leadership teams in Years 10 to 12. Equally useful for the quiet kid the staff have flagged as a leader-in-the-making.
The seminar lands on one idea: the most obvious way to learn to lead is to lead yourself first. Glen walks students through The Power of Purpose from a leadership lens, so they can answer 3 questions before they try to answer them for anyone else: who am I, why am I here, and where am I going? Students walk out with a written statement of purpose for their year of leadership, a clear read on the difference between the title and the role, and the start of a leadership identity that doesn’t collapse the first time they’re tested.
They also walk out engaged. The room is sharper at the end than it was at the start, and the staff in the back of the hall feel it.
WHAT PAST STUDENTS TAKE FROM THE ROOM
“I just want to send an email about how you have changed my mindset. This year I have been falling into the slump of year 12, managing ATAR, a job, leadership responsibilities and a social life. You said it to us straight, thank you for not sugarcoating it and just telling us we will get through it. I don’t want to just get through it, I want to succeed and what you made me understand is that is all up to me. You shifted my mindset – made me understand that it isn’t good enough to remain comfortable. I can’t just complain every day as I am doing now. I am going to start focussing on the little wins, and changing my environment to water my seeds.”

“I attended your seminar today at Brigidine College Randwick. I just wanted to express my sincere thanks for such an inspiring and thought-provoking session. I’ve always had a passion for public speaking, leadership, and creating positive change, and your seminar helped me feel more confident about turning these passions into a career. Until today, my goals often felt unrealistic, but your words made me believe it’s possible. I want to use my voice to stand up for those who can’t, and I’m excited to keep adding to this vision as I grow. Thank you again for your time and inspiration. I’m incredibly grateful.”

“You have spoken at my school at Catholic Ladies College twice, once in Year 11 and the other when I was in Year 12. The first time you came I was completely moved and changed and ultimately inspired. I am emailing to tell you I reached my goal, I wrote down my dream ATAR of 90 in the booklet you gave to us, put it on my vision board, put it on my mirror, on my wall with all my posters, on my celling to look up to at night and Glen, I got a 96.9 ATAR. I told you it was my dream to be a Clinical Psychologist and have my own practice, and psychology was my best score of 48. You told me that I could and I did, so thank you. I finished the year with 4 excellence awards, leadership awards and more and I honestly give you my thanks for all of them. You gave me that push that I wouldn’t have been able to find otherwise and so I don’t have many words other than thank you.”

HOW IT RUNS AND HOW TO BOOK
1 hour. In-person, on your campus. We don’t run this online. Available to high schools and education organisations globally. Glen travels.
Pen and paper. No phones in the room. Total respect, quiet enough to think. You provide the hall, the AV, and water. We bring the rest.
The Leadership Effect drops cleanly into a leadership induction day, a prefect retreat, or the start of a Year 11 or Year 12 cohort taking on senior responsibility. The earlier you get in touch, the more flexibility you’ve got on dates that fit your year-level calendar.
Tell us your school, your year level, and the term you’re aiming at. We’ll come back inside the next 2 working days with available dates and a quote.
