Leaders can adapt

“The strongest will is the will that knows how to bend.” – Alice Duer Miller

Great student leaders are not so rigid in the way they do things that they cannot change. The ability to be flexible in an ever-changing and complex world is vital to every potential leader.

Great student leaders listen and glean ideas from their peers and mentors, then fashion those ideas into a well-orchestrated plan that can be implemented. Everyone on the team should be able to identify with the part they played in the creation of the plan and be able to genuinely say, “We came up with this together”.

Never become so fixated on what you are doing that it becomes difficult to adjust or change direction when you need to. Leaders must be able to direct a feisty emotionally charged meeting into a session that’s filled with hope and optimism.

Staying agile stops you from becoming fragile!
