“7 years ago in 2011, you came to my school to deliver an intensive workshop for our retreat. At that time in my life, I stood at a dangerous crossroad, but through your workshop and words, you inspired me to choose hope. You unlocked something in me that day, one which I never forgot. And seven years on, my life has completely changed. I went from being a high school drop out with severe mental illness to having the ability to travel the world and transform the lives of women and girls. At 23 years old, I have worked with the United Nations, consulted with President Obama and organised the largest ‘legal’ girls political takeover in the world. Somehow, I managed to become a Woman of the Future and was presented to The Queen of England by becoming a Queen’s Young Leader. The reason why I am writing to you is to say thank you. At that point in my life, I was lost. But your words and your story truly inspired me. Any time when I was at my lowest, I still picture you telling me “choose hope, choose life, you will change the world”. Thank you for saving my life. Stay fearless.”
